Testimonials:

Here is what some of our female Krav Maga students want to share with you!

“I wanted to take Krav Maga because […] I think every girl/woman should learn self defense (and) I wanted to learn how to feel safe. […] I was tired of being scared all of the time and knew I had to do something. Krav Maga seemed like the most logical option because of it’s practical nature

I love that I feel stronger, safer, and more confident every time I finish training

I’m completely in love with training Krav Maga. I love the intensity and the practical aspects of it.”

I was […] very apprehensive when I first came in […]. I think you [Impact Krav Maga Self-Defense] have created an incredibly safe and supportive environment for training especially for women

[What I have learnt about myself is that…] “I like pushing my physical and psychological limits. I can be aggressive. I do better under pressure. I think the thing I didn’t know was how much I could enjoy pushing my limits.”

[The most important thing I have learnt during my Krav Maga training is  that…] I can feel safe

I had wanted to learn a very practical form of self-defense for many years […].”

I chose Impact Krav Maga Self-Defense because I like the way Veronica and Yury teach. […] they break down the moves and will go over them with you as many times as you need. They are super approachable and always willing to take the time to answer questions. Not only do they know how to do Krav Maga, but they also know how to teach it.”

Aside from the practical concerns of self-defense, I love Krav Maga because of how it makes me relate to my body. It is a heady feeling of extreme competence to execute a technique perfectly and feel the power reverberate through your body as you land a back hammerfist right on target.”

I often choose a male partner [when training in class] as a way to get used to dealing with superior strength

When I first heard about Krav Maga, I knew it was for me. All the intensity of the competitive sports I miss, and all the practicality to justify the me-time for a busy Mom.”

One of the most important things I’ve discovered is how impotent I’d be in real life situation. It’s great to gain a realistic perspective on you skills (or lack of them) and then train properly to develop the tools you may one day need. When you finally get a difficult defense right, under pressure, you feel a confidence that’s substantive. Plus, it’s just really, really fun.”

Impact is a highly professional gym; you train with excellent instructors, but in the end you also feel like it’s a family

As someone who runs alone quite often, I’ve always wondered what I would do if someone grabbed me while I was out running (or walking alone).  I knew I would fight back, but I doubted how effective I could be– a 5’3″ woman flailing against a strong man.  I wanted to learn practical self defense moves other than just “be aware of your surroundings, stay away from dangerous areas…”

I am getting so much out of learning Krav Maga in terms of skills and confidence to defend myself

I have realized that I feel empowered in knowing how to defend myself.  It’s not a feeling of invincibility– I know that fighting off an attacker in the real world would be different than attacking a pad or a friend in class.  However, I also know that I now have the skills to land a well-placed elbow/knee/kick– and it makes me feel good to know that if anyone were to attack me, they would have a lot more to contend with than a small woman flailing around.”

[I have learnt that] Even big men can be brought down with kicks/hits to the groin and face.”
